How to manage stress with the 3 M’s!

Stress is a first world manifestation, which seems to sneakily burden, each one of us, at some point of our life. There may be a million reasons why you could be stressed but luckily there are a number of different ways to help to you manage this stress. Without managing stress effectively, one can become ill, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

1: Meditation

Meditation is my number one, stress management tool , this is because you can practice meditation in different ways and almost anywhere. There have been numerous studies that have evaluated the amazingly impressive benefits of meditation. From lowering high blood pressure, to increasing memory and focus; meditation can be viewed as an astounding panacea.

So if you are on the bus or just about to drift into a slumber, take ten minutes to experience the still and calm with my meditation.

Sanctuary of Wellbeing Meditation

Take a deep breath, filling your lungs. Once full, hold your breath for 3 seconds, before exhaling. Do this five times.

You can now imagine green glowing light, encompassing the tips of your toes; slowly moving up each part of your body, till it reaches your head. Once it has reached your head say internally “My mind, body and soul is balanced”.

Green light in nature and  colour therapy is noted as being balancing as well as grounding.

2: Massage

The mental strains and diminutive vexations of the day not only affect your mind in a negative manner but also impact your body. With firm strokes to taut muscles, tension can be dissipated and balance, restored to the body. This feeling of equilibrium will filter to the mind and complete relaxation is achieved with an amazing massage.

3: Mantra

A mantra is a syllable or a sentence repeated to oneself multiple times. I see mantras as a way of subtle, simple, yet an effective way of conscious, self-hypnosis. A quote famously stated by Buddha can sum up, what I am highlighting “All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think, we become”.

To reinforce a positive stress free mindset; try saying these mantras to yourself as many times a day, to restore balance.

“I am soul, calm and peaceful”.

“I have everything I need to enjoy my here and now”

“I am calm, confident and optimistic”

“I am whole and complete in myself”

“I am energetic and full of vitality”

So when you are having a exasperating day try to incorporate the 3 M's into your life to restore your mind, body and soul!
